  The raw materials for the production of inductors include magnetic core, copper wire, skeleton, etc., and the production of an inductor depends on the choice of magnetic core. Below, we will introduce the characteristics of the main types of magnetic cores in detail.

  1. Iron core

  Iron powder core is mainly a kind of soft magnet powder core, mainly using pure iron powder to add insulating agent, binder, through extrusion molding, general initial permeability is below 75, the product has a high saturation flux density, general products due to small surface resistance, so it is not suitable for more than 200KHz circuit, single with the progress of technology, but also continue to appear high frequency materials. Iron core is generally used in power type magnetic ring inductors, and is commonly used in various switching power supplies.

  2. Nickel-zinc core

  Nickel-zinc iron core is mainly a soft ferrite magnetic core, the initial permeability of nickel-zinc magnetic core is generally 5~1500, the magnetic core is generally used in the middle and high frequency circuit, due to its high surface resistance (100MΩ above)

  Nickel zinc core uses: anti EMI ferrite: EMI materials rely on magnetic loss and electrical loss to absorb electromagnetic energy, in order to absorb interference electromagnetic wave, so the general requirements in 10~100MHz conditions have a high impedance, generally used for magnetic beads;

  Frequency filter inductance: This kind of material generally requires low loss, low temperature coefficient, high Curie temperature, high frequency characteristics, etc., generally used for color ring inductance. Choke inductance and power inductance: the magnetic core generally requires large saturated magnetic flux, high Curie temperature characteristics, generally used in magnetic bar inductance, part of the axial inductance of the I-inductance;

  3. Manganese-zinc core

  Manganese zinc magnetic core is also a soft magnetic core with high initial permeability (2000~15000). The surface resistance of this product is low, and the higher the initial permeability, the lower the surface resistance, so it is generally used in the circuit below 1MHz.

  The initial permeability of the material is generally about 2000~3000, has a high saturation flux density, low loss, is one of the ideal power inductance core about 100KHz; Generally used in magnetic ring common mode inductor.

  4. Ferroalloy

  Ferroalloy improves the disadvantage of iron core and strengthens the advantage of iron core. It is generally used in the magnetic ring power inductors which require very high requirements.

  5. Amorphous alloy materials

  With high initial permeability (50000~60000), high saturation, low loss and other characteristics, generally used for very high requirements.
